Knowing When Your Baby Is Teething

Last updated 4 years ago

Babies love to put things in their mouths as they explore the world. However, putting objects in the mouth could also be a sign that indicates your baby is teething.

Most babies begin to get teeth between four and 12 months of age. Signs that your baby is teething include swollen gums and the appearance of white along the edge of the gum line where the teeth will erupt. Avoid using numbing agents to treat pain; rather, soak a washcloth and freeze it before giving it to your baby to bite. You can get more teething tips by watching this short video.

If you have teething questions, talk to your pediatric dentist at Park View Pediatric Dentistry. We are here to help you through every step of your baby’s dental development with professional and comfortable care.
